Athens fish tavernas and psarotavernes serve Aegean catch by the kilo: grilled whole fish, fried calamari, and simple sides that let freshness lead.
Piraeus, Psyrri, Kolonaki, and seaside suburbs each change the logistics — compare scores on this directory before following only Acropolis-adjacent tourist menus.
For “best seafood restaurants in Athens”, ask the price per kilo and choose fish from the ice display, not a frozen mixed grill.
