One Borough, Two Completely Different Nights

City Island Lobster House on the Sound, and Seafood Mixer on Seward — sit-down vs boil counter.

By City Island Lobster House

City Island Lobster House on Bridge Street, Bronx
Welcome. We’re City Island Lobster House at 691 Bridge St on the Bronx side of the Sound. You can eat seafood in this borough twice in one week and never repeat the same gesture — one night you sit with us; another night you might carry a boil tray from Seafood Mixer on Seward. This story covers both because FishRestaurants lists both. Only the first half is our voice.

The night you sit — our house

Maine lobster, cold-water tails, king and snow and Dungeness crab, giant shrimp, a terrace on the Sound, and dockage if the boat is how you arrived — that is what our site describes.

Our website has argued with itself about hours: a noon-to-10 line, and a longer 11:30-to-11 line. The directory card currently says 11:30am–10:30pm, Sunday from noon. Call before a birthday. Use the phone or the site; do not trust an old vendor email on a third-party card.

Reserve a table when the occasion needs a window on the water. That is us.

The night you do not sit — Seafood Mixer

Seafood Mixer is 1812 Seward Ave. Phone (718) 269-6219. No real website — ordering has gone through a store link, and the feed is @seafoodmixer. Listing: Seafood Mixer.

The pile people describe is a boil: pasta loaded with shrimp and mussels, snow crab, lobster tails, fried fish. Public hours disagree with each other — Google versus the shop’s own social posts. We will not pick a winner from here. Call that afternoon.

There is no photo of Mixer’s tray on FishRestaurants yet. We will not use a stock crab leg. When they send a real tray, the listing and this paragraph can grow a picture.

Boils on this site live under seafood boils. The lobster, crab, and prawn guide cards below are for species names, not a promise about either kitchen’s special tonight. More of the city is on New York.

Do not tell a friend to “reserve” Seward Avenue. Tell them to call City Island when they want our terrace.

Thank you for reading.
