Mayo and butter cost the same. The choice is temperature and fat, not a secret upcharge. A large is seven dollars more than a regular. That is the whole decision at the counter.
Butter is the cold-weather order. The meat sits in the bun and the butter goes on last, which is why the pour is the picture people take. Mayo is the walking order, same lobster, less likely to end up on a coat.
If a roll is not dinner
Three other lobster plates sit on the same card, and none of them is a sandwich.
Lobster pie, $39.99. The plate for someone who wants the meat hot and covered, not piled on a bun.
Lobster mac and cheese, $34.99. A dollar under the regular roll. Useful when the table is split between a roll and something that eats like supper.
Lobster salad, $35.00. The roll without the bun, priced a cent under the regular sandwich.
A crab roll is the off-ramp if someone at the table does not want lobster: $28.99 regular, $35.99 large. One jumbo lump crab cake is $10.99. Shrimp cocktail is $15.00.
Chowder, spelled the way they print it
Soups are 12 ounces and $10.99. The card uses the Boston spelling.

A cup of chowda plus a regular roll is $46.98 before tax. That is the lunch that does not require a whole animal. A cup on its own is the order when the line is long and you still want to sit.

The 1.5-pound and the 2-pound are the same price on the dine-in card. Ask for the 2-pound. The 3-pound jumps to $79.99 and is the one to split. Drawn butter comes with it. This is a plated lobster, not the live one in the tank.
The small plates that are actually seafood
They file these under sides. They are not sides.

The seafood clam they sell to take home is stuffed with shrimp, lobster, and scallops. Cole slaw, potato salad, and pasta salad are the actual sides, $4.99 each. A whoopie pie is $3.99 if you want something after the butter.
The tanks, if you are not dining
The market counter is the same address. Live lobster is sold by size, from a small at 1.25 pounds up through medium, large, and anything they are calling a monster that day. Littleneck and cherrystone clams are $18 a dozen at retail. Steamers are $29.98 for a 2-pound bag. Those are pickup prices, not the dine-in card, and they move. Look at the board.
Oysters sit in the case beside the cooked fish. If you came for a roll, you can still leave with a dozen.
What to drink with it
Wine is $12.99 a glass and $35.99 a bottle: Prosecco, Pinot Grigio, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, California Chardonnay, French rosé, New Zealand Pinot Noir, California Cabernet. On draft, Harpoon IPA and a James Hook house white are $9.99. The frozen drinks (frosé, margarita, vodka lemonade) are $15.99 if the patio is the point.
