On Slauson Avenue in Pico Rivera, the red signs of Mariscos Las Sirenas light up a corner where the grill smells of chile and charcoal and the stage fills up on weekends. It's a women- and Latino-owned Mexican seafood house that mixes coastal recipes with a big night out.

The Charola Tumbada: one tray, the whole table

At $110, the Charola Tumbada is built for sharing — crab legs, shrimp, octopus, mussels, corn and potatoes in the house salsa. It's the photo the owners sent us first, and it's the dish that matches how people actually eat here: one pour, many hands.

Zarandeado, the house specialty

Pulpo and pescado zarandeado hit the coals with their seasoning and sell by the pound. Google reviewers mention the grill more than almost anything else on the menu; if you only order one thing, make it something that smells like smoke before it hits the table.

Pa Que Te Enamores

"To make you fall in love" ($97) stacks zarandeado octopus and fish with langoustines, tortillas on the side. It's the middleweight between a molcajete for two and the full charola.

The molcajete

The Molcajete Mixto ($46) arrives bubbling — beef, chorizo, chicken, head-on shrimp, queso, spring onions and nopales. The seafood molcajete ($58) is the same energy with mariscos instead of meat.

Micheladas that are dessert too

The Michelada Las Sirenas ($23) comes with gummies and a tamarind straw — part drink, part photo op. Margaritas and cantaritos fill out a bar that stays busy on Friday and Saturday nights.

Live shows & karaoke

Live shows run weekly, and karaoke is one of the top topics in their Google reviews. The Sunday Show runs from 5 PM. One regular put it plainly: "Martin is literally the best!!! His vibe and energy are amazing."

Women- and Latino-owned

Las Sirenas identifies on Google as women-owned and Latino-owned, LGBTQ+ friendly, and wheelchair accessible — parking, entrance, seating and restroom.
